Celebrating ‘The High Priestess of Soul’, Nina Simone. Acclaimed jazz vocalist Judi Jackson will visit Dexter to perform a selection of Nina’s compositions live.

Across her 44 year career Simone became one of America’s most prolific and influential composers. Her remarkable voice, and virtuosic piano playing allowed her to weave a legacy of liberation, empowerment, passion and love through a magnificent body of work.

We’re delighted to present the American born multi-instrumentalist and vocalist Judi Jackson. Judi has released music with Snarky Puppy, performed alongside Mavis Staples and recorded live sessions with Jazz FM. By revisiting Nina’s compositions, Judi aims to explore how these songs have influenced her life and career so far.
